WELCOME TO THE 2nd SUDSOL BLOG TOUR

I love being a member of SUDSOL, it's a Demo Only site with all kinds of resources for Demos - new or experienced. And if you have a question you'll be sure to find an answer. I have a great Upline, but if yours has retired, or moved, or is inactive, SUDSOL is there for you.

AND I love SUDSOL Blog tours - whether I'm posting or viewing! A challenge always gets the juices flowing, and viewing others' ideas does the same! So - Welcome! Please enjoy your visit, and come back again anytime! In fact you can sign up for email notices of my updates right here on the right column. Now for the goodies:

One of my absolute favourite items in the new 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalogue is the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (p. 175) available in each Colour Collection. I used one of the River Rock sheets from the Neutrals Collection for this project:
This is called a Memory Keeper and I got the idea from Gina K Designs. The box is really easy to make, I used River Rock and So Saffron card stock, decorated with the River Rock paper, and will hold 4 x 6 photos, along with the cards on which you can write your memories:
You can keep the whole set in the box (photos and card memories) or pop them into a scrapbook with your journaling all done! You could also use it for a recipe collection - complete with photos; or as a gift for someone who is about to go on a trip. I'm sure you'll think of even more ideas!

My first card uses the new stamp set "Just Believe" - I know this is going to be a 'go to' set because it has such a variety of images and sentiments that are easy to use. (The 'thinking of you' is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set). The cardstock is Basic Black and River Rock (so glad it's back, it goes with everything!!!)

And now I'm jumping right to Christmas!! I love the new stamp sets and papers this year, and for the next card I'm using the set "Greeting Card Kids" (so cute!!) and the Jolly Holiday DSP. I watercoloured the image using markers on plastic picked up with blender pens. My absolutely favourite new colour is Cherry Cobbler, and I'm so happy it's used in the Jolly Holiday paper! I also used it for the little girl's coat, hat, and leggings.     The sentiment is from the "Home for Christmas" set. The image is punched with the new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.

I also used the Corner Punch and the Scallop Border Punch to give it some extra......punch......!

I consider this next card a Christmas/Holiday card as well. In fact, I absolutely adore this colour combination of Whisper White, Basic Black, and Bashful Blue for Christmas cards! I hope you like it too. The trees are from the new "Plant Hope" stamp set, and the sentiment is from the "Grateful Greetings" set.
I've added snow to the trees and ground with our white gel pen.

Finally I've used the Milk Carton die with the Big Shot to make this little collection of Christmas treats. You can fit exactly three small (and unfortunately they should always be small!) pieces of homemade fudge in each carton. Perfect for a neighbourly gift!
The cardstock is Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler, and the DSP is Jolly Holiday. I intend to add the initial of each neighbour's last name to the oval on each carton. These are quick and easy to put together, and so far everyone who sees them thinks they are pretty cute (and that's even without the fudge!!)

Thanks for visiting!

SOMETHING TO SHARE

Last weekend was our Atlantic Stampers Ink team meeting - so much fun! I have the most creative and definitely the nicest team possible: Maree, Linda, and Sandy.
Here are some of the things they brought to share...
This is Maree's. Isn't it adorable? It's made with a CD mailer and full of tags and thank you cards!
This is Sandy's
It's a Technique File with well over 100 techniques in it - Wow!

Somehow I missed taking a photo of Linda's creation. I'll get a copy to show you later. Here's some photos of them having fun, and supposedly working!!
Gotcha!

Here they are creating cards for my Catalogue Launch the next day (couldn't have done it without them!!) Thanks Ladies!

JUST A LITTLE TEASING ROMANCE

Today's card uses one of our new colours: Early Espresso, along with Crumb Cake (kraft) and Very Vanilla.
The stamp sets used are Artistic Etchings (from the new Idea Book & Catalogue!) and In A Word. I also used the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.
The ribbon is 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain in Chocolate chip, and tied with the 1/4" Grosgrain in Real Red to give it a little spark.
When I was making this card I was imagining meeting someone on a trip to Paris, spending a few days together, and then sending them this card when I returned home. (Imaginations are fun!)

Hope you like it!

GREENHOUSE GARDEN

This is one of my favourite stamp sets, probably because I love flowers and gardens. It's a two-step set, which means you stamp the first full design in a lighter colour, and then the second detail design in a darker colour:
The largest flowers are stamped in the retired "Summer Sun" with the second stamp showing the lines and centre of the flower stamped in Old Olive. The same with the pink flowers - the base flower is stamped in Pretty in Pink while the detailed second stamp is done with Regal Rose. The blue flowers use Tempting Turquoise and the retired Brilliant Blue, and finally the purple flowers use the retired Lovely Lilac and Old Olive. The ribbon is 1/4" Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain.

This second card uses the same set but has a different design:
The pink background on this card is made by rubbing the Pretty in Pink Ink pad over the diamond pattern of the Backgrounds 1 Texture Plate, and then running it through the Big Shot with a sheet of Pretty in Pink card stock.

Hope you like them!

Family

I haven't been posting for a while because I've had the pleasure of having our daughter Julie, her husband Dean, and our two adorable granddaughters visit with us:
We've been to the beach and had a picnic, visited the park and playground, and had lots of barbeques! Grampy hung the two swings, and Grammie got a new little wagon so each girl would have something in which to carry all her 'stuff' when we walked around the block. Here they are dressed up to visit with their Nanny's family in New Glasgow.

And while I'm going to miss them while they are gone for a few days - I will have time to do some stamping! So stay tuned!

IT'S HERE!

The new 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalogue is here at last. I'm so excited to share it with you, but we'll have to wait a bit to do it in person as I have family visiting for the next 3 weeks! Until then please check out the on line version of the catalogue (click on the cover on the left column).

And for a quick update, here are this year's new In Colours:

Aren't they yummy!! Watch for samples using these and other new colours coming soon!!
