And I do mean 'today'. Stampin' Up! has so many neat Christmas stamp sets this year that I can choose a new 'favourite' every day (well, at least every week). These cards were made with the 'Holiday Lineup' set. The snowmen make me smile every time I look at them. There are elves and reindeer too and I'll make cards with them another time.
So, for the details. I really like the colours on the first card - shades of blue and green, not exactly Christmasy but kind of mellow. This layout is copied from another demo's design, I can't take the credit for it!
For cardstock I used Baja Breeze and Mellow Moss. The Designer Series Paper is from 'Urban Garden' that I cut on the diagonal. I embossed the snowmen with VersaMark and Black embossing powder, then coloured in the snowmen (okay, so I love colouring - perhaps there really is a second childhood!!) with markers in Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue, then lightly watercoloured the 'snow' with a light gray.
The ribbon is 1/4 inch grosgrain in Whisper White and Certainly Celery.
I stamped the card background in Craft Whisper White, using snowflakes from the 'SnowBurst' stamp set, and used a mini glue dot to attach the white snowflake from SU's Felt Flurries.
The second card uses the same snowmen in different colours. The background cardstock is Bashful Blue and the DSP is Frosty Day, another un-typical colour combination for Christmas. The ribbon and brad are Bashful Blue and the snowflakes are from the Felt Flurries set. Although I've only used white snowflakes, they come in Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red as well. The snowmen are coloured with markers in Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving comments, I appreciate them all!
