Tags for You!

Do you like making Christmas Tags?

I love it! There are so many great stamp sets for tag making in the Holiday Catalogue. The first one I'm going to show you is Christmas Magic. (See the card I made with this stamp set below this post.)

The images are just the right size for a 2"x4" tag.

The ribbon on the tag is Real Red from the annual catalogue, but the gold cord is from the new Holiday Catalogue.

This north pole sign is adorable!

And the snowman is my favourite (today).

I hope you like them too!

My Holiday Catalogues have arrived - if you live in the Truro area be sure to drop in and pick up yours!

Hand Made Watercoloured Christmas Card

If you enjoy watercolouring (and I do), you'll find some delightful stamp sets in this new Holiday Catalogue. (Remember the Merry Mice set from a few days ago?!)

This little snowman is so endearing, and wait until you see what else is in the set! It's called Christmas Magic and includes five image stamps (two are shown below) and three sentiment stamps.

The star beneath the sentiment comes from a separate Starlight Thinlits Die set.

If you live in the Truro area you can pick up a catalogue from me next week. They are due to arrive on Monday!

Another Hand Made Christmas Card

I have to warn you - there are so many fun and gorgeous new stamp sets and bundles in the upcoming Holiday Catalogue... and I seem to love them all, I bet you'll find some favourites too!!!

So here's another hint of what is to come...

The highlight of this card is DSP!! Yes, those little houses are cut from a sheet of DSP - what could be easier! It's called Candy Cane Lane DSP and there are lots of fun designs in the pack.

The row of candy at the bottom is Washi Tape...great for cards, envelopes, tags, and so easy to use as well. Everything is from the Candy Cane Lane Suite (and there are lots more in that suite too!)

Remember you can obtain (and order) from this catalogue on September 1st... the countdown is on!!

More Stampin' Up! Sneak Peeks

I've decided I will share some of my favourite Christmas cards made with products from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue this week, and then go back to 'normal programming'!

The stamp set featured today is so cute, and I love the watercolouring opportunity.

It's called Merry Mice  and makes me smile every time I look at it.

Did you notice those adorable little red bells? Yup - they are in the catalogue too!! Along with the Candy Cane Lane DSP!

I'll give you more details when the catalogue goes live on September 1st. You will be able to see it online at that date on my Stampin' Up! site. Or if you live in or near the Truro, NS area contact me to obtain your hard copy.

Check back tomorrow for another sneak peek!!!

Broken Promises are Sometimes Fun!

OK, I promised myself, and a few of my friends, that I wouldn't go crazy over the Stampin' Up! Christmas catalogue and start posting Christmas items until at least September...

But I Can't Help It!!!

This catalogue is totally awesome ( a trite phrase but so true in this case!!!)

So without further ado, here is one of my favourite set of Thinlits Dies from the Holiday Catalogue that goes live on September 1st.  (If you want to get your catalogues early, with pre-order perks, ask me about becoming a Stampin' Up! demo!!)

Overall this is a simple card with all the emphasis on the die cuts, and what versatile die-cuts they are!! There are fir branches, pine cones, mistletoe, and bows. It's called Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies and there is a stamp set to match!

The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set Christmas Pines, and I especially like the words 'from across the miles' as we have been transferred several times during my husband's career and this sentiment is so appropriate.

Be prepared for more 'favourites' in future posts!

Easy & Fun Note Cards

Hello Everyone!

If you checked out Chat's site yesterday you will see there was a set of note cards in her Flourishing Phrases tutorial too. I finished these up after the other ladies left, and they are so cute!!!

The little holder uses only 1/2 sheet of cardstock and is so easy to make!
Each note can be added to a gift you are giving, or the set makes a lovely gift all on its own.

You can purchase the tutorial on Chat's site - memystampsandi.blogspot.com
Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a lovely stamping day!

Flourishing Phrases & Friends

Two demos from our team dropped over today and we made up a set of Chat Wazelaki designed cards (with a few changes of course) Chat has great tutorials, you can see them at http://memystampsandi.blogspot.ca/

Here we are hard at work...  Don't we make a wonderful mess?!

And these are the cards we completed using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and corresponding dies. Plus the luscious Sweet Sugarplum 3/8" ruched ribbon.

Pink and green are my favourite combination so I love this set!

And it's not only the die cuts that are show stoppers, the stamped images are as well.

I always need sympathy cards so I changed the sentiment on this one (it was congratulations), so of course that changed the placement of everything so I had to improvise a bit, but I like how it turned out.

Funny the things you notice in photos - such as I really need to trim the ends of the ribbon on this card!!!

I hope you enjoyed your visit, and be sure to check out Chat's blog, she has lovely ideas!

Umbrella Weather Together!

Several of our ASI Team got together on Saturday to have some fun. Linda had everything ready so we could make these two cards using the Weather Together stamp set (p. 55 AC) together with the Umbrella Weather Framelits Dies on p 193:

Now I have to admit this stamp set did not really catch my eye when I was looking through the catalogue (probably because I already had an eye full!!) But since then I've seen so many adorable cards made with the bundle.

The variety of sentiments and images makes this a versatile set for many types of cards: Thank You, Thinking of You, Shower cards and invitations, and Spring. I'm sure you can come up with more.

Weather Together Photopolymer Bundle  #142319

Here is a video from Stampin' Up! with more ideas for this bundle:

If you would like to order the stamp set and/or matching dies, please contact me, or go on-line and order directly.

A Special Stampin' Up! Treat Available August 2nd!

Believe it or not, August 2nd is only one week away! So you won't have too long to wait for this beautiful new Stamp set and Die Bundle that is only available while supplies last during the month of August... unless it's so popular that Stampin' Up! will have to bring it back in a future catalogue!

It's called "Thoughtful Branches".

Just read those sentiments - aren't they great! And such a variety! And I love all the different trees and things to go with them.

The dies make cutting so much more fun!
Note the tree trunk and branches, and the stem and leaves - you'll see what you can do with them below!

Here are some cards that I've made using this set...

All of these cards use the same style base in different colours. A 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card base, a 5 1/4" x 4" colour mat, and 5" x 3 3/4" Whisper White sheet for stamping.

Colours used in the first card are Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky.

Colours in this second card are Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, and Garden Green.

Colours used in this third card are Garden Green and Chocolate Chip.

In this last card I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze to get the autumn leaf colours, and Chocolate Chip for the trunk with Garden Green for the grass.

This makes a set of four very different cards from the same stamp set.

Contact me right away so I can order your bundle first thing August 2nd, or you can order it on-line on that day. Bundles are only available while supplies last...

Happy Stamping!

Hand stamped Magic using the Woodland Embossing Folder

This was a technique that we did at our last team meeting, and it's amazing how simple it is! You can use it with any Embossing Folder, but it is especially effective with the Woodland Embossing Folder that is now in the new Annual Catalogue, p. 195,

Here are samples:

This first one is made using the bridge from the Wherever You Go stamp set p. 144, and the sentiment from Rose Wonder stamp set p. 132.

Sponge the inside of the Woodland Embossing folder with Soft Sky ink, adding extra just below the middle to make it darker. (Make sure you sponge the inside of the folder that has 'sizzix' printed on the outside of it.)

Then ink up your bridge stamp with what ever colour you want to use (I used Basic Black) and stamp it directly onto the inside of the embossing folder that you have just sponged.

Now place your Whisper White cardstock carefully inside the Embossing Folder lining it up on the side opposite the sponged side. Close the folder and run it through the Big Shot.

Open it carefully and... MAGIC... the bridge is behind the raised trunks of the trees.

The next one uses a single tree from Lovely As A Tree stamp set, sponged with Soft Sky and stamped with Night of Navy.

This one uses deer from In the Meadow and is sponged with Crumb Cake and stamped with Chocolate Chip and Garden Green.

Finally this one uses the trees from Lovely as a Tree stamp set stamped in Night of Navy, and sponged with Night of Navy.

It's fun to try whatever stamp sets and Embossing folders you have to see what you can come up with!

Please let me know what you think!

Happy Stamping!

Handmade Summer card with Best Birds Bundle by Stampin' Up!

I'm sitting on my back deck watching the birds at the feeder and bird bath - what a show! It's such a beautiful summer morning... I wish I could stop time for a while and continue to enjoy it a few more hours.

So I thought I would share with  you a card with birds using the Best Birds bundle on page 53 in the new annual catalogue. There are so many temptations in this catalogue it's hard to settle on one before you want to try another!

The Best Birds stamp set has 13 stamps and the Birds & Blooms Thinlits have 9 dies in the set, enough to create a whole variety of cards from "thoughts for you" to "Happy Anniversary" and more.

Best Birds Photopolymer Bundle#142315

I stamped the birds on Daffodil Delight cardstock which made it very easy to add the remaining colours.

Here are the details to make the card:

Daffodil Delight cardstock cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", plus extra for birds
Flirty Flamingo cardstock cut 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White cardstock cut 5" x 3 3/4", plus extra for branches, leaves, and flowers.

Using more Daffodil Delight cardstock stamp and die cut the two largest birds. Add colour with Basic Black and Old Olive markers. Remove their legs and feet.

Use Whisper White cardstock and Chocolate Chip ink to stamp the branches. Colour the branches with Chocolate Chip and Garden Green markers. Stamp and cut out extra leaves if desired.

Using the 4" x 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White, stamp the burlap square twice from the stamp set in Crumb Cake (stamped off). Stamp the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner using Flirty Flamingo ink.

Using Whisper White cardstock stamp and die cut seven of the single blossom.. Colour with Flirty Flamingo marker. Add medium sized pearls to the centre of each.

Attach branches, birds, and flowers with Foam Adhesive Strips, trimmed to required size.

Attach Whisper White completed sheet to Flirty Flamingo mat, then attach to Daffodil Delight card base. Add 5 1/4" x 4" Whisper White cardstock to inside of card for sentiment.

I hope you have time to enjoy these beautiful summer days too!

Happy Stamping!
