Always More to See

Another of the versatile new sets in the catalogue is Delicate Doilies - here is one of Maree's samples:

It's so easy to make a background with this stamp set - and fun! Look at what Linda made:

And here is my sample:

And we all used the new Lace Ribbon Border punch!
If you're looking for a girly stamp set, this one fits the bill! It's great for snowflakes too!

A Little Bit of Christmas in July!

I'm afraid whenever a new catalogue comes out my interest is always taken first by the Christmas stamps! And while the first two cards I show you are not new stamps, I loved the samples in the IB&C so much that I had to recreate them.

The first one is simple but effective. It's a 6" x 6" card folded in half. The cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White. I used the Top Note die for the front, and stamped in Old Olive Ink. The stamp set used is Bells & Boughs. The ribbon is our Victoria Crochet Trim. Quick and easy and beautiful.

The second card is quick and simple too - handy idea for the busy holidays.
I had this set last year but I wasn't pleased with the way cards turned out. This year I used Always Artichoke and Real Red markers to colour the stamp, and stamped it on Naturals White paper (p.181) and I really liked the way it turned out. More detail from the stamp and more texture on the paper. Give it a try!

The last card uses a new stamp set from the IB&C as well as the design from the IB&C.

Again the colours are Always Artichoke and Real Red for the card stock. I used the Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter to colour the snowman, and the glitter is Champagne Glass Stampin' Glitter attached with two sided Sticky Tape.

I'll have lots of other Christmas samples coming soon!

High as a kite!

And cool as an ice cream cone!

These two beautiful cards were made by Linda from our ASI team. If you think they are cute here you should see them in real life!!

They are made using the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Pennant Parade Stamp Set. The ribbon is new too!  The kites were made from a retired set.

And look at this one:
Yummy ice cream cones made from the same punch and stamp set!

Thanks for sharing Linda!

Summer Fun

Where to start?! So many exciting things happening - family visiting, my new catalogue order arrived, strawberry jam season (well, that's exciting at our house!) :0)

Today I want to share with you samples from a friend of mine - Karen. She brought them to my Open House to earn extra tickets for the prize draws.

Aren't they lovely? Karen has tons of talent and has taught her own classes!
Those owls are adorable and I love the fold on the first card. My granddaughter begged for the little purse so I made one like it for her.

And here is another card that I cased from the new catalogue - the Idea Book & Catalogue has a lot of great ideas in it (have I mentioned this before...?)
This card is so simple but still beautiful. Cut 6" x 6" and folded to 6" x 3". (We sell envelopes to fit this size) I used Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock; Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler ink pads, and our Victoria Crochet Trim. The stamp set is Bells & Boughs.

New Catalogue Inspiration

Wow! I love our new Idea Book & Catalogue! Not only for the super new products but also for all the inspiration. The idea samples are gorgeous and you will be seeing some of them right here on this blog!

Take this one for instance:
You can find the inspiration card for it on page 12. Mine is very similar but there were several products I didn't have (believe it or not!) For instance I had to use a different stamp set, a different die for the oval matting, and a different DSP.

But if you compare the two cards you will see that I captured the same idea of the sample.

So if you are wanting to copy a card you've seen in one of the catalogues or a magazine, you don't need to have everything the same to obtain a close facsimilie. Just dig around in what you have and you can make it work!

HOSTESS CLUB # 2

The next Hostess Club starts in August (always the 1st Wednesday night of the month) and this time we are going to learn new folds for cards.

Our last Hostess Club learned new techniques along with earning their hostess benefits, and at the last meeting got to take home their samples technique book:

I bound it and added a table of contents, we learned 17 new techniques.
Here is how each page was laid out:

We'll be doing the same type of booklet for our card folds Hostess Class.

Hostess Clubs are a great way to add product to your craft supply without the hassle of holding a workshop. Each month 5 people come to class, commit to spending at least $44, and learn three new folds. It's lots of fun and we take turns collecting the Hostess Benefits!

If you would like to join our Hostess club, contact me today to sign up for the next session.

Just Lovin' the Pool Party

I just can't stay away! I love the softness of the new In Colour Pool Party. In fact I've kind of OD'd on it with this card - just couldn't get enough!

This card is 5" x 5", a size I don't usually use, but I wanted to make this card special. The card base is plain. The first layer is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. On top of that is the BigzL die cut from Perfect Pennants. The sentiment is from the Hostess Set Tagtastic. The rhinestones are the only non-Pool Party colour, but they reflect it!

I hope you like this colour as much as I - it's very versatile!

More Pennants

OK, it's official, I love this double punch Petite Pennants Builder. It just makes everything so EASY, and so.darn.cute!

Here's another example:

The colours used are Wild Wasabi, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight. The DSP is from the Subtles Collection, and the design stamped on the top pennants is Fine Flourish.

I juxtaposed the glitzy rhinestones with the casual baker's twine, and repeated the polka dots of the DSP with the Perfect Polka Dots of the Embossing Folder.

Don't forget to sign up for my Open House!
