CARD SWAPS WITH NEW COLOURS!

Our Atlantic Stampers Ink team swaps cards each month and I love to see the different ideas that everyone comes up with. So here they are for May!

The first was made by Maree:

Maree is always so good with the details - eyelets, rounded corners, etc. etc. etc!

This second one is Linda's. I think I've got Linda hooked on the punches (they are so versatile!) and Linda always has bling!
The new colour is Daffodil Delight with a touch of Elegant Eggplant and Going Gray.

Sandi's card uses my absolute favourite new colour - Cherry Cobbler! It's going to be a fantastic Christmas colour!  Sandi is another detail person - notice the piercing, it just adds that final perfect touch!

And this is a version of my card. I say a version because I actually changed my mind before I made the swap cards but I sent them before I took a photo!

As you can see I'm learning from my team - I used piercing on the new Early Expresso (yummy colour), and I used the new embossing folder on the Cherry Cobbler, plus punched stars from the Daffodil Delight. My final touch of new colour is the blue - Marina Mist.

I have such a talented team - I wish I could show you all of their work. So far only Maree has a blog, Inky Moose http://www.inkymoose.blogspot.com, make sure you visit to see her beautiful projects!

Thanks for stopping by - I'll have more to share tomorrow!

GRADUATION CARDS

I've just returned from our daughter's graduation from Moritz School of Law at Ohio State University. And we are so proud! Four days later she received her Naturalization Certificate so now she is a US citizen. Her husband (born in the US and Psychology Professor at OSU) taught at the University of Toronto for two years, during which time he romanced her and subsequently lured her to OSU with him.

Here are the cards I made for her special days:

This one uses the OSU colours (Scarlet and Gray) and shows photos of her graduating from Kindergarden, Highschool, with her B.Sc. from Dalhousie, and her Masters of Psychology from U of T.

The inside shows her formal grad photo from OSU and I used the Happy Grad stamp from the new Summer Mini. (I covered our personal message to her so that's why there an extra wide sheet of paper there too).

She is a wonderful young woman, and someday I will forgive our terrific son-in-law for taking her so far away!!

The next card I made for my Mom to give to Jaie (who is her namesake). My Mom was not a well educated woman but she was an independent thinker! Again I used the OSU colours and the Happy Grad stamp:

and the inside carried a very 'Mom-like' sentiment:

from the Favourite Thoughts stamp set.

Finally I made a card for her Naturalization Ceremony.
It shows Jaie when she was about 4 years old:

And then again when her husband took her to New York to show her the city:
I just love this inside photo!! :0)

Thanks for letting me share some special moments with our 'middlest' daughter. Here's wishing you much joy with your family too!

VERY FIRST SUDSOL BLOG TOUR!

It's here at last and I'm so glad you've come to visit!! I hope you enjoy your time with me!

All of my samples use products from the new Summer Mini catalog. My first set of two cards uses the Bouquet Bunch stamp set. Wow there are so many neat new things in this mini that I found it hard to choose, but I love the versatility of this set. The sentiments are from the Watercolour Trio stamp set which you will see more of below.

I also used the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, which didn't impress me when I saw it in the catalog but it sure impresses me now that I've got it!

Here is a close-up of each card so that you can see the beautiful design of the embossing folder. I used the 1 3/8" punch for the sentiment matted on the 1 3/4" Pumpkin Pie circle. The topiary and pot are raised with dimensionals to give even more life and texture.

The colours of cardstock that I used are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Whisper White. I coloured the plants with markers in Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Regal Rose.

The next card uses Watercolor Trio for both the image and the sentiment. The cardstock is Real Red, Kraft, and Whisper White. Ink used is Real Red and Old Olive, and I sponged the edges with Going Gray pastel. Punches used were the Scallop Oval, and the Spiral punch.

I distressed the edges and curled the left corner with the bone folder. I really like the sentiments and the script in this stamp set. Plus the flower stamps are so easy to use, great for workshops!

This card really makes me feel like I'm in the tropics! The stamp set - Tropical Party - has everything you need for a Bon Voyage card, or to use when you scrapbook your cruise or southern holiday. I combined the set with Favourite Thoughts sayings for a 'tongue in cheek' card.
Cardstock used is Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Whisper White. Ink used is Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun, and Old Olive.

And the message inside:

The last card I have to share with you uses the Little Bit of Magic stamp set. I love the faieries! The cardstock is Old Olive, Certainly Celery, and Whisper White.

I used Scalloped Circles #2 to cut out the watercolour paper, and then cut out the frame. I used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut out the centre.

I also used the Tiny Tags stamp set for the sentiment, and the Medium Jewelery Tag punch to punch them out.

The ribbons used are 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in Old Olive, as well as 1/4" grosgrain ribbon in Old Olive.

That's the end of my samples, but I wanted to mention that SUDSOL is a great site for SU demos, and if you haven't visited already be sure to click on the icon here on my blog to check it out. You can get two weeks FREE membership!

Finally #3 (my favourite!)

So delish!

There's more too but I'm going to make you wait!

FIRST SUDSOL BLOG TOUR

I am so excited to be part of the first SUDSOL (Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing Online) Blog Tour. This is one of the great places where SU Demos get ideas for projects, business assistance, and lots of other things too! If you're a demo be sure to check it out.

The tour starts this Saturday and will include items and ideas using the product in the new Summer Mini Catalogue, so be sure to check back to see what I've prepared for you!

ATLANTIC STAMPERS INK APRIL SWAP

As much fun as it is to be a Stampin' Up! Demo, it's 3 times the fun now because I have 3 wonderful ladies on my team. One of the things we do is send each other monthly swaps. April was Maree's turn to come up with the theme and she chose a colour theme using one of her daughter's school bags as inspiration:
Isn't that a beautiful design!! Lots of Stampin' Up! similarities in there.

Now part of the reason for the themes of the swaps is to get us to try different things. Since I'm such a pink/green/white girl I decided I would go with more of the other colours in the design, and here is what I came up with:
Can you believe it! No pink!
The cardstock is Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. The ink is Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise. The stamp set is Watercolor Trio - such a quick and easy set to use. Great for quick cards and workshops!

The next card is Sandi's, our newest team member:
I love all the detail on this card - the colours, the layers, the punches, and brads. It's a beauty! Thank you Sandi!

I'll show you Linda's card tomorrow... I can't show you Maree's because she is sending it into one of the SU contests (after a lot of convincing!!!)

I'm working on our May swap today, so I may show you a sneak peek before I send them out.

Happy Stamping!

WATERCOLOUR CARDS

Where does the time go?! I had planned to post these last week but somehow it disappeared when I wasn't looking!

These cards were part of a Technique class in watercolouring. For the first 30 minutes we practiced light and shading, and different ways to use the Blender Pens and Aqua Painters with the Stampin' Up! Wonder Crayons and Stampin' Write Markers. Then we made these three cards:

The first card is made with So Saffron and Whisper White cardstock. The ribbon is the Old Olive Satin ribbon. The colours used for the flower are Certainly Celery, Old Olive, So Saffron, and More Mustard. The flower is from the Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set.

The second card uses Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White cardstock - my absolute favourite combination... well almost any green/pink/neutral is my favourite combination! The stamp set is a Level One Hostess set - Country Morning.

The final card uses my favourite Teddy Bear from the set Teddy & Train. The colours are Bermuda Bay, Kraft, and Whsiper White. The teddy bear is coloured in shades of Chocolate Chip with a suedy Basic Black on his paws. The Designer Series Paper is Thoroughly Modern.

If you would like to create these cards for yourself, just contact me for supplies and details!
