Another Sneak Peek...

This card uses one of my favourite stamp sets in the Occasions Mini, and these are only two of the stamps in the six piece set. Plus you can see a sample of new Designer Series Paper.
The colours used are Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla, and I sponged most of the pieces with Baja Breeze.

This set has an Easter Sentiment, as well as the "sending Springtime smiles" which is really versatile.

But there is something else too - did you catch it? Ribbon roses in Very Vanilla. I sponged these ones with Baja Breeze, but you can also dye them in any colour you want by adding a few drops of Ink Refill to water and popping the roses in the mixture. After letting them dye to the colour you wish simply take them out, squeeze gently, and set to dry overnight.

So many delicious new products, and there's still more! See you next year!! Here's wishing you a very happy one!

Another Birthday Card

I am a very lucky woman and I want to share my luck with you! I received a birthday card from another member of the ASI team. This one is from Maree (Inky Moose) and I love it!

Maree knows my favourite colours are pink and green (as did Linda), and the brown just makes them look even more lovely. I really like the 'window pane' look of this card too.

Thank you Maree - and Happy New Year!

Isn't It Lovely!!!

I received a beautiful, gorgeous, birthday card in the mail yesterday... from Linda, one of the Atlantic Stampers Ink team, (be sure to visit her blog Shoreline Stampers). Linda used some of my favourite items from the Occasions mini so I asked her if I could post her card on-line, and here it is!

Complete with matching envelope - Classy or what!

Now can you see all the goodies... I can't really point them out until January 4th, but I do love them all...

Look closely....

Everything on this card is made with Stampin' Up! products... aren't they great! I love the designs, the colours, everything!

Thank you so much Linda!

Stamp Set & Coordinating Punch

It's no secret that I love punches, they just make crafting so quick and easy. And Stampin' Up! has come up with a great new punch that coordinates with a stamp set that can result in card like this:

As you can see the stamp set has a variety of flower styles, and so does the punch. (And the embossing folder design looks good enough to eat in Soft Suede!!) These flowers were made using Blushing Bride and Pretty in Pink, with the centres punched out of a wonderful new sparkly paper in Real Red.

There are a variety of different sized leaves as well, the ones I've used are the largest and I've used Old Olive ink stamped on Pear Pizzaz.

These flowers are large enough to work well in scrapbooking too!

Stay tuned for more new products tomorrow!

Sneak Peeks of the new Occasions Mini

I think you're going to love the new products in the Occasions Mini which goes live on January 4th, 2011. I know I do! Some of you may have received your copies already, or will be in the next few days. If you haven't received one by January 4th, just stop by and I'll give you one.

See if you can find something new that I used in these simple thank you cards:

I made up these cards quickly using Embossing Folders, and YES! there is a new one called Framed Tulips - did you find it? It's great to use alone - as in these thank you cards - or it makes a great frame for DSP or coloured card stock. You'll see more of those in the future!

Here is a closer photo of the new folder, isn't it divine! I'm so glad SU has given us this full size frame. It can be used on cards, but also makes a great frame for photos in your scrapbooking!

Check back tomorrow for another sample of how I've used new product. And don't forget - if there is something you still want from the Holiday Mini you have until January 3rd to order...

New Year's Cards

With life being so busy these days lots of people missed sending out their Christmas cards. Instead of last minute scrambling resulting in late cards, one lady has commissioned me to make New Year's cards. Here is one of my samples:

I knew I wanted to use embossing or glitter, and the requested colours were black, white, and silver. The sentiment is the retired single stamp A Brand New Year, and embossed with silver. The fireworks (I hope you recognized them as fireworks?) are from the Greenhouse Garden set. Ever since I first saw this set I've thought this stamp (the two-step detailed center of one of the larger flowers) looked like fireworks.

Please leave a comment to let me know if they look like fireworks to you (in case it's only me and people are wondering why I put flower centres on my celebration cards!!!)

My Attempt at the VersaMark Resist Technique

I think this technique is beautiful so I had to try one of my own (and there will be more in the future!!)
I used the Nature's Nest Stamp set, and Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry ink. I also used a new Embossing Folder, Framed Tulips, that will be available in the Occasions Mini coming January 4th.

There is just something about the shiny, smooth finish of this technique that is very attractive. And don't you just love the embossed border?! There are so many yummy things in this upcoming Mini - so save your Christmas money 'cause I think you're going to want some!!

Last Christmas Cards of 2010 (I think)

Well I do love to make Christmas cards, and I think the first one I made this year was in August... I may actually go through withdrawal!

The cards I want to share with you today are all different, and only one of them is mine.

The first was made by one of my team - Linda. She was trying out a new technique and we all fell in love with it! It's called Versamark Resist and the resulting image looks like a photograph!

The technique is done with Glossy White Cardstock, VersaMark, and sponged on ink.

See what a beautiful finish it has:

The next card was made by a demo friend, Ann Wood, who lives near me. She actually made the card last year but I was so impressed with it that I kept it to CASE. (Copy and Share Everything)

As lovely as this card looks here, it is 10 times better in real life. There is so much interest and texture it's hard to put down.

There's also bling!

The final card is mine, and it was a card front that I had embossed on our Brushed Silver card stock that somehow got shoved in a drawer and I just came across it again today. I decided to make it into a card for that always needed 'last minute card'.

The card base is Real Red, although it looks more like our new In Colour "Poppy Parade" in this photo.

The Brushed Silver cardstock gives a nice glitter/sheen for the background of Santa and the trees.

Thanks to Linda and Ann for sharing their lovely cards!

Thanks to you for stopping by!

My Craft Room

I love my craft room, I could spend the whole day in it! And I'm fortunate to have lots of space. Yet every time I start out with a clean, empty table, it only takes one project and the table is messy. Before I know it I've gone from a completely spacious empty table to working in a square foot of space. Sometimes in an attempt to stay tidy I make myself put items away between projects, only to have to dig most of the same ones out again for the next project five minutes later!! I think it's hopeless.

As a result I've made a sign for my craft room, for those times when people 'drop-in'.

Drop-ins are always welcome. Just try not to look shocked!

Last Set of Tags...

Minus one...
I don't know about you, but life plays little tricks on me - especially in my craft room! Something that was there 5 minutes ago will disappear, doesn't matter how big, bold, or blue it is, it cannot be seen. Well the same thing happened to one of Linda's tags. And it was cute too. Hopefully it will reappear before too long. (Oh they do that too, usually after I've made/bought/borrowed another one just like it!)

My apologies to Linda...

These darling little card tags are full of detail. See the half pearls on the ornament:

And the bling on the snowflakes:

Even though they are small they are more like miniature cards than tags, and will make any gift look great (even the invisible one!).

Thank you Linda! You can visit Linda's blog (Shoreline Stampers) here.

New Valentine Promotion

Time marches on... even if we're not prepared! And starting December 17th here is something that you will like!

Tag Swap Day Three

I'm just loving the tags my team are sending to me. So many beautiful, intricate designs in such a small package!
Here are Sandi's:

Wouldn't you love to have any of those adorning your gift!

The two square tags are 3" x 3" and the third one is cut with the Two Tags die.

The simplicity of layering different sized snowflakes from the Northern Frost die, but Oh! so effective! Everyone who visits my craft room remarks on this one:

But this blue one is my favourite... The glitter gets me every time!!

Thanks Sandi for sharing your wonderful creativity!!

Tag Swap Day Two

Today I'm going to share Maree's tags. This is only Maree's second Christmas in Canada so she and her family are pretty excited about the snow!

I love the angle of this snowman - he's so darn cute!!

The next tag is so simple but so striking! No layers, no hand cutting, just impressive!

I don't know where my head has been but I've never considered using the round tab punch for an ornament hanger - and it's perfect!! (plus it holds the circles together!)

Thanks Maree for sharing your creativity! They are all beautiful.

You can visit Maree's blog here:  Inky Moose  Don't you love the name!!

Come back tomorrow to see Sandi's tags.

Tags Galore!

The last two weeks have been a flurry of wild activity, classes, company, illness, in other words, just plain life! But they have sped by without even one post. But now I'm BAAAAAAACCCKK...........

Last time I gave you a peek at the tags I made for our team swap. Well today you can see the whole thing:

While they are all the same shape and size (4 3/4" x 2 3/4") I tried to do different things with each. This first one has an aged and distressed look. It uses the Soft Ivy wheel in Always Artichoke ink, a piece of torn and sponged DSP from the Deck the Halls package, and a poinsettia using the 5 Petal punch and sponged with Old Artichoke ink.(Two flowers in Cherry Cobbler, one in Old Artichoke cardstock, held together with a gold brad and attached with a dimensional.)

The next uses some non-traditional colours, but it is fun! The packages are squares punched from the Candy Cane DSP and tied with 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain, 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in Real Red and Marina Mist. The two smaller boxes are popped up with dimensionals.

Finally the Santa tag uses the image from the Jolly Old Saint Nick stamp set and the sentiment from the Just Believe set - a perfect combination. I added a touch of holly to Santa's hat from the Bells & Boughs set. Santa's face is coloured with a Blush Blossom Stampin Write marker and his cheeks are ruddied with Pretty in Pink. There is also a bit of DSP from the Simply Scrappin kit Christmas Cheer.

I hope you enjoyed a better look! If you would like to order supplies to make tags such as this just contact me personally, or you can order direct from my Stampin' Up! online store - see the circle on the left column.

Thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow to see the tags I received from Maree!

Desk Top Calendar

Today I want to show you a cute little gift idea that came from the Connie & Mary website. It's great to have on your desk or by any phone (I've tucked post-it notes and a pen in the little drawer). It would also be a super gift to give office associates. You can change the sentiment to suit the person... this one is perfect for a dear friend of mine!

The colours used are Old Olive, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride - one of this year's In Colours. The ribbon is the 1/2" Stitched-Poly in Blushing Bride. It is beautiful ribbon to work with, and ties perfectly every time!

TIP:  This ribbon doesn't stick well with Glue Dots - which is what I usually use with ribbon, but the Tom bow Multipurpose Liquid Glue works perfectly!

The button is from the Designer Buttons series, and the DSP is retired.

Hope you like it!

Christmas Invites

Phew! Between the excitement of the Half Off Demo Starter Kit, and now the upcoming Online Spectacular, it's hard to settle down to do some stamping!!!

But I managed! This is an invitation I'm giving to business friends for a get-together at our house:

I've used Cherry cobbler and Whisper White cardstock, embossing the Whisper White with the Poinsettias Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. I have to confess the pine bough image is "pre Stampin' Up!".

Inside I've used the retired You're Invited set, along with the Autumn Days pine cones. The current party invitation set is Inviting, found on page 53 of the Idea Book & Catalogue!

I'll be back tomorrow!!

Welcome to my Castle!

Welcome to my Castle!

I'm so glad you accepted the Royal invitation and can take time from your visit with the Queen to stop here a while. I've prepared special projects just for your visit, so please make yourself comfortable...and I hope you will be entertained!

In honour of  your visit the stamp set I have chosen to highlight is Autumn Days to compliment the season of your journey. It lends itself to autumn cards and here are a few for your visual pleasure...

This first card could also be used for a masculine birthday or a Thanksgiving card just by changing the sentiment:

The card stock is Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, and Very Vanilla. The Classic Ink used is Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, and So Saffron.

I liked the colours of the maple leaves so much that I made a Thank You note card using just them! And they look beautiful on the envelope as well.

But you can use this set for more than just autumn and Thanksgiving. The next card is a wedding card. Wheat is a symbol of prosperity and security, and that is what I wished for the newlyweds.

The pine boughs and pine cones of course make me think of Christmas - my favourite time of the year! I used them to decorate the gift bag and box below:

And finally I made this Christmas card using the pine bough/cone stamp and the berry stamp from the set. I really like how it turned out, and or course I had to add a couple of 'frozen dew drops' to the boughs!

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my castle! I certainly enjoyed your company.

And please come back and visit again anytime you are out and about the kingdom, my castle will always welcome you!
