Simple But Stunning Masculine Cards

Today I have three really quick and easy, but 'male approved' cards for you. I was inspired by a card designed by Nicole Tugrul.

Quick and Easy cards using Adventure Bound paper stack, Hello You Thinlits dies, Basic Black, Whisper White, and Mossy Meadow Cardstock, with Big Day stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I love the Adventure Bound (4 1/2" x 6 1/2") paper stack. It is ideal for masculine cards, or Project Life scrapbooking or just about anything when you need an outdoorsy look.

The 'Hello' card uses Mossy Meadow card stock for the base and the die cut sentiment.

The first Happy Birthday card uses Basic Black for the card base and Whisper White for the sentiment.

The last card uses Mossy Meadow as the card base and Whisper White for the sentiment.

I'll be making more of these as every man I've asked prefer these cards to others I've shown them, plus - they're easy!!

I've added something new today and I hope you'll let me know if you like it. Besides listing the dimensions of the card, I will be showing you the products that I've used to make it, along with the item number and price (scroll down to see them all - and you can print them by clicking on 'supply list' at the bottom.

If you prefer this system I will continue it for you!

Happy Stamping!
Carol

Dimensions:
Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

February Team Meeting Fun!

We had a lot of fun at our team meeting on Saturday!

There are always goodies for everyone, and sometimes we don't know how they got there!

Stampin' Up! Treat bags Confetti Stars Border Punch Thinlit Dies, gold glimmer paper, hand made, cards, treats

After oohing and ahing over those we waded through updates about the compensation plan that I brought home from Leadership. It looks good!

Then we shared projects each of us had made over the last month or so - always inspiring!
This was followed by prizes for different business categories, as well as prizes for a challenge I had put out last month.

Finally we got to the best part - stamping!

Carolyn was responsible for bringing the first project and she delighted us with this adorable Mickey and Minnie punch art card:

Here we are, hard at play!

And then Linda surprised us with this 'travelling gift box'.

It's a "Berry Basket" filled with goodies - tea, coffee, chocolate, and a candle in a sweet holder. It was also accompanied by a lovely card.

The objective of the gift is to take out something you like and replace it with something else, then pass the gift along, writing something special on the card. When the card is full it comes back to Linda. Goodness knows what she will do with it then! :)

Aren't the flowers beautiful!

Our final Make & Take was this card:

Thanks for coming everyone - and for those who couldn't make it this month, we missed you!

Masculine Mojo Monday Card

Yes, I realize it's Tuesday... but with my record I'm still early! :)

I've decided to use the Mojo Monday #384 sketch design to inspire my card today. And because I had some Soft Suede card and ink on my crafting table I went with that.

Here is the finished card:

And here is the Mojo Monday sketch:

It's a regular 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Soft Suede card base. The Desginer Series Paper is from Park Lane (4" x 3"), the Ribbon is Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon. The largest layer is Crumb Cake (4" x 3") with Whisper White (3 7/8" x 2 7/8") embossed with the Arrows Embossing Folder.

The smaller layers are Soft Suede (3 1/2" x 2"), Whisper White (3 3/8" x 1 7/8") stamped with a sentiment from Moon Lake. The feathers are stamped with the stamp set Four Feathers and cut with the Feathers Framelits Dies. And of course I had to have a feather cut from the Gold Glimmer Paper sheets for some pizzaz!

I hope you liked my interpretation of the sketch, and I'd love for you to leave a message below!

Featured on Scrapbooks and Cards Today Blog

Hello Everyone!

I'm thrilled to be featured on the Scrapbooks and Cards Today blog for "Stampin' Up! Inspiration Saturday". Here are the projects that I sent in, and they chose three of them.

The first one uses our new Mini Treat Bag dies to make a Wedding Favour. Tucked inside is the sentiment "Cheers to Love and Laughter and Happily Ever After" from the Cheers to Love stamp set, along with two tickets from That's The Ticket stamp set for free drinks at the reception.

Then using the cute little pirate from the Hey, Valentine stamp set, I made a birthday card, using the Blendabilities to colour it.

This card also uses the Hey, Valentine set and Blendabilities to make a Get Well card!

I also made some smaller Valentine cards with the Hey, Valentine set.

Here are larger bags made from the Mini Treat Bag dies, using the banner and word dies that are also in the set.

If you have any questions about the projects please leave a comment and I will get back to you with the answer.

Now, hop on over to the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog and you could win the Hey, Valentine stamp set, the Mini Treat Bag dies, and some Blendabilities!

Warped Cutting Pads?

Hello Everyone

I just had to share this tip as I've had plenty of warped Big Shot Cutting Pads in the past and it makes it difficult to use the Magnetic Platform properly.

Here is the link for the pictorial instructions for straightening/flattening the pads, although the ones shown are for another die cutting machine, it works the same for the Big Shot:
