Christmas Wishes Across The Miles
Today I am sharing a card I made for a contest: Paper Garden Holiday Card Challenge.
The supplies are all from Stampin' Up! and are listed below.
This is a 5"x 5" card which I don't make very often. I'm not sure why because I always love the results, something about a square card is very visually pleasing.
Of course then I have to make a special envelope as I don't have that size on hand, but it's really easy with Stampin' Up!'s Envelope Punch Board - you can make dozens of sizes!
I hope you are more ready for Christmas than I am... but somehow it all turns out OK, as long as our family is together!
If you like the card, you can vote for me here: http://www.paper-garden.ca/pages/2016-holiday-cards.html (And if you do, thank you very much!!)
Only nine more sleeps until Christmas! As my granddaughters say.
Happy Stamping,

Christmas Themed Cash Gift Holder
Happy December!
And the ground is white! We got about 10cm (2 in.) of heavy snow yesterday, driving was terrible in spots, but spirits were high!
Today I want to share with you a cash/cheque gift folder. I received an order for five (all the same) and here is what I came up with.
It is sized specifically for cash or cheque at 7 inches wide. (more details below). It is kept closed with a belly band (wouldn't want any of those dollars to fall out!)

Remove the band and open to the pocket and sentiment.
I made an envelope to fit the card as well.
Here are the details if you want to make one too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Oh What Fun, Christmas Magic
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Dies: Lots of Labels Framelits
Designer Series Paper: This Christmas
Directions:
Card:
Cut Cherry Cobbler 7" x 8 1/2". Score on the 8 1/2" side at 3" and 6"
Cut Designer Series Paper at 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" and 6 1/2" x 2 1/8"
Cut Cherry Cobbler for belly band 1 1/2" x 8", score at 3 1/8" and 6 1/4"
Fold along scorelines and burnish with a bone folder. Cut the bottom of the 3" section on an angle as shown in photo above. Using strong glue or two sided tape glue the angled section along the two outside edges to the 3" section.
Add Designer Series Paper - angling the edge of the 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" to match the cardstock on the inside, and using the smaller piece of DSP for the cover.
Create the belly band by folding along the score lines and then placing it around the completed holder and attaching the ends with strong glue or two sided tape.
Cut the Very Vanilla using the Lots of Labels Framelits to the size of your sentiment. Stamp with Cherry Cobbler ink.
Cut the Garden Green cardstock the next size larger of the Lots of Labels Framelits. Use it to mat the Very Vanilla piece. Attach to the belly band.
Envelope:
Cut Very Vanilla cardstock to 8 1/4" x 8 1/4". Using the Envelope Punch Board punch and score at 2 3/4", turn 180 degrees (opposite side) and punch and score again. Then line up each score line with the score guide, punch and score.
Fold on all score lines and burnish with a bone folder. You will need to cut the points on the larger sides (see finished envelope above). I simply cut them straight across. Once they are folded - one large side at a time, you will be able to judge where you need to cut.
Add two sided tape to the bottom sections of the small flaps. Attach to the large bottom flap.
Stamp sentiment to outside of top flap.
Add two sided tape to the inside straight edge of the top flap for later closure.
Remember you can use other colours/framelits/punches/stamp sets to make this project too!
Happy Stamping!
