Happy Birthday, Cupcake!

The stamp set Sketched Birthday was one of my first choices from the annual catalogue. I liked it because it was suitable for both adults and children, there's a stamp you can use to create an invitation, and you can watercolour some of the images!

So here is my card today, with credit to Sandi MacIver for the layout.

For embellishments I used the Naturals Designer Buttons and one of the hearts from the Essentials Wooden Elements in the Occasions catalogue.

And I've used the Retro Fresh DSP.

The colours are Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, and Baked Brown Sugar.

Retro Fresh Perfect Pennants

Today I have a set of cards that was inspired by Chat Wszelaki, and while the colours are not my 'go to' shades, I do love the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and Perfect Pennants is a super stamp set - not only does it have versatile sentiments, the words make beautiful images too!

I love Chat's use of the DSP - just enough to make it zazzy! (a la Sheldon in Big Bang Theory)

Tip: Create New Shapes with Triangles
Paper piecing makes for a fun way to create a beautiful background. For example, take the Triangle punch (#133375) and the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper (#132995) and punch out lots of triangles in different patterns and colors. Adhere them to a piece of Whisper White card stock (#100730) that has been cut to your desired size. Cover the whole piece - letting parts of triangles hang over the edge of the card stock where needed. Trim off the excess once it is dry. Adhere to your card, add a greeting, and you're done!

SUDSOL BLOG TOUR - Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my Blog! 

I'm so glad you joined us on our 14th SUDSOL BLOG TOUR!

This is the first project I want to share with you today. It uses Watercolor Wonder DSP, the Perfect Pennants stamp set, as well as the Petite Petals stamp set and matching Petite Petals punch, all from the Occasions catalogue.

This card has an interesting fold, yet it will lay flat and fit into a regular envelope.

 
 

My second project also has an interesting fold. I guess you could call it a gate-fold card, 

but it's slightly different.

The Designer Series Paper is from the Fresh Prints Paper Stack, and the sentiment on the front is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

Inside I used a sentiment from the Follow Your Heart (no longer available) stamp set.

Although this card does not have a flat bottom, it will still stand up!!

My next card uses the Sweet Sorbet DSP from the Sale-a-bration Booklet. I love the colour combinations and designs in this package! The sentiment is again from the Perfect Pennants stamp set

 (what can I say - it's a great set!!)

This fold was shown me by one of my team members who saw it on a video. It uses one of the new Tag Topper punches from the Occasions catalogue - the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

Just something a little different without being too complicated.

Now I want to show you a card I made for my Kiwi Granddaughter's birthday (Happy Birthday Marin!):

At first I thought I wouldn't invest in the Starburst Framelits dies and the Starburst Sayings stamp set... but I quickly changed my mind! And I've been using them a lot ever since I got them!
I love how easy it is to layer with them (remember - the more layers, the more love!!)

 I hope Marin likes these colours, the DSP is from the Watercolor Wonder Pack.
