A Mother of Boys

Well, if you know me personally you know that I am the mother of three adult daughters and the grandmother of two granddaughters. But the last few days I've had the opportunity of being a mother to two teenage young men. Who knew they could be so much fun? Of course I only had them for three days, and they didn't know me so I'm betting they were on their best behaviour! But they were charming, polite, and fun!

This is Joshua and Jacob being introduced to their first live lobster - they took it pretty well in stride...

They even humoured us by trying it - after it was cooked, of course!!

And I think they may have even liked it, but the back-up hamburgers disappeared pretty quickly too!

Joshua and Jacob are members of the St. Michael's Boys Choir from St. Michael's Choir School in Toronto, Ontario, and were touring Nova Scotia giving concerts. There were over 130 boys in the touring choir and their performance was totally sublime - four part harmony, so rich and beautiful. You can hear a sample of their singing at the link below (although not nearly as wonderful as live!)

The choir has travelled around North America and Europe and next year (the choir's 75th anniversary) they travel to Rome.

The choir sings regularly at the masses at St. Michael's Cathedral in Toronto.

Here are Jacob and Josh in their 'business suits' after their performance here in Truro.

Thanks guys! It was a pleasure to host you!
