EARTH DAY 2010

It's Earth Day and here in Nova Scotia we are having our earliest spring ever! Our lawns are green, the daffodils and tulips are blooming, and the Magnolia tree is about to pop! Here are a few photos from my garden:
Our garden is totally organic, and we're always adding more shrubs, trees, and plants that will attract birds and other wildlife (and we're in the middle of town!)

I wish you all a wonderful Earth Day - take some time to go outside and commune with nature.

  1. What are the hot pink lantern type flowers in your garden pictures? I used to work in a floral shop years ago and have forgotten what it is- I remember we got it every May. It is BEAUTIFUL and the blooms dry to make beautiful potpouri- especially pretty in a dish with dried delphinium. My other favorite flower. I have a dish handy on my desk- I got those in a floral arrangement recently.

  2. The plants with the hot pink flowers are Heath (similar to Heather but more hardy in my zone). Lucky you to have worked in a floral shop!
